PSNI new recruits

Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Debbie Coyle, recently hosted a reception at Enniskillen Townhall to welcome new Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) recruits serving across the Fermanagh and Omagh District.

Speaking at the reception Cllr Coyle said,
”As Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, I am delighted to welcome you all to the Townhall today, and in particular the new PSNI recruits.
Firstly, congratulations on choosing a career in policing and public service. You have taken on a role that is both challenging and rewarding, and one which plays a vital role in supporting and protecting our communities. On behalf of the Council, I would like to thank you for your commitment and wish you every success as you begin your careers with the PSNI.

I was pleased to be invited to visit Enniskillen Police Station recently by Superintendent Cunningham to see first-hand the work being undertaken in relation to Ending Violence Against Women and Girls. That visit reinforced the important role policing plays within our communities and the value of the strong relationships that exist between the PSNI, local partners and residents.

I would also like to welcome our partners from various agencies joining us today. Your involvement demonstrates the importance of partnership working in addressing local issues and supporting the people and communities we serve.

The Council works closely with the PSNI, PCSP, statutory agencies, community and voluntary organisations, and local residents to identify concerns, respond to local needs and help ensure communities feel safe and supported. By working together, we can ensure that the voices of local people are heard and that our efforts are focused on the issues that matter most to them.

Partnership working is at the heart of effective community safety. Whether it is supporting vulnerable individuals, promoting road safety, preventing crime or tackling local concerns, positive outcomes are achieved when organisations work collaboratively towards shared goals.

Thank you for taking the time to join us today. We look forward to continuing our strong partnership with the PSNI and wish each of you every success in your future service to the people of Fermanagh and Omagh.”
