Construction of a new Play Park at Gortin Village to commence

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is pleased to announce that construction of a new play park will begin shortly at Owenkillew Community Centre in Gortin Village.

The project forms part of the Outdoor Recreational Capital Programme, included in the Fermanagh and Omagh PEACEPLUS Local Action Plan, which will see 10 outdoor community spaces transformed across the district. The project is funded by PEACEPLUS with match-funding provided by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council.

The Local Action Plan is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB). Developed through a collaborative co-design process with the local community, the Action Plan will deliver 13 programme which aims to unite communities, build new connections, and celebrate cultural diversity.

The Outdoor Recreational Capital Programme seeks to create more welcoming, accessible, and inclusive community spaces. The new play park in Gortin will provide opportunities for play, recreation, and community gatherings, promoting social interaction, physical activity, and cross-community engagement

Cllr McElduff, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council said,
