Sligo, Leitrim, Northern Counties Railway (SLMCR) Greenway Concept and Feasibility Public Consultation

Leitrim County Council in partnership with Sligo County Council, Cavan County Council, Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, and under the auspices of Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) and Department for Infrastructure (DfI) are developing the Sligo, Leitrim, Northern Counties Railway (SLNCR) Greenway.

Following a technical IT issue, a further period of Public Consultation on the study area and constraints is planned from Monday 17 April to Monday 15 May 2023.

A Public Consultation was held on the Project between24 January and 10 February 2023, including in-person events.

Due to a technical IT issue associated with the ‘Contact Us’ tab on the website, a number of digital submissions were not received during the Public Consultation period which ended on 10 February 2023.  This error has been rectified ad we request that submissions previously made through the ‘Contact Us’ tab of website are resubmitted.

If your submission was made on person, by post or via email to, your submission has been received and you do not need to resubmit.  A FAQs tab has also be added to the website ( which aims to answer questions which were raised in submissions received to date.
