More than 70 local small businesses and organisations attended a Digital Marketing Conference in the Silverbirch Hotel, Omagh on Thursday 7 June 2018.

The conference, organised by Fermanagh & Omagh District Council, is the Council’s latest initiative designed to provide support and development opportunities for local businesses.

The conference included masterclasses and specialist workshops delivered by digital experts on how to harness digital marketing tools for business success and also provided an opportunity for local businesses to ask questions and seek advice from the expert panel.

Opening the conference, the Chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Howard Thornton, said:

“Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has long recognised the positive impact which the small business sector has on the local economy and has continually sought ways of offering support and assistance through the development of many initiatives targeted at this sector.

The Council also acknowledges the vital role technology plays in the day-to-day world of business and has sought to deliver initiatives which enable our local businesses to compete in this ever changing world where global business is now at our fingertips.”

Speakers and panellists on the day included Daithi Conlon of Website NI, Caroline O’Neill of DIGG Childrenswear, Emma Gribben of Digital by Emma, Daryl Conway of Digital 42,  and Niamh Taylor from Digital Twenty Four.

The conference focussed on digital channels and tools currently available to the business community and also highlighted emerging digital trends which will play a role in the future of how business is carried out.

The Digital Marketing Conference was the first in a series of free digital events organised by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council for the local small business community which will take place over the next 12 months.

The next event, scheduled for September in Enniskillen, will focus on Sales, specifically looking at eCommerce, how to increase sales in store and online and LinkedIn for Business to Business communications.

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council currently delivers a number of free business support programmes for businesses across the district.
