Lisbellaw and Tamlaght Play Parks reopen following upgrade works
16th August 2023
Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has reopened the play parks in Lisbellaw and Tamlaght following the completion of upgrade works.
The improvements, which were delivered as part of the Council’s ongoing Play Park Strategy 2021-2030, will provide enhanced, accessible and inclusive play facilities for children and young people in the local area.
The upgrade of Lisbellaw Play Park includes the provision of new and inclusive swings and trampoline, play panels, playhouse and three way seesaw. In Tamlaght the upgrade includes the addition of new and inclusive roundabout, springer, play panels and playhouse.
Speaking about the works, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Thomas O’Reilly, said:
“I am delighted that the Council is continuing with the ongoing delivery of its Play Park Strategy to improve play facilities throughout the District, particularly in our rural towns and villages.
The provision of spaces for children to play is important for a child’s development, encourages discovery and growth and provides an opportunity to get outdoors and connect with the natural environment.
I am confident that the local residents will benefit from enhanced play facilities in Lisbellaw and Tamlaght in the years ahead.”
The Council’s Play Park Strategy supports its commitment to ensure that our people are healthy and well.
The Strategy guides the provision, sustainable management and development of Play Parks across the Council area to 2030. For more information on the Strategy, visit the Council’s website (www.fermanaghomagh.com).
