The nicer weather over the past few weeks means we should be starting to see a profusion of colour across our lawns and hedgerows. With World Environment Day this Friday it’s a great time to start learning how to identify the wildflowers around you. There are loads of resources online to help you get to grips with the wonderful world of wildflowers, head out for a walk and see how many you can find. The kids will enjoy getting involved in this natural treasure hunt too! If you’re lucky you might even spot some of our rarer species! Make sure you record your discoveries on https://www2.habitas.org.uk/records/.

Did you know that there are approximately 815 native wildflowers on the island of Ireland and countless more introduced species which have established themselves in the wild? This means there will always be more to discover!
