Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is seeking views on its draft Corporate Plan 2020 – 2024, “Delivering Sustainable Change Together”, which sets out the Council’s priorities for the next 4 years.

The Corporate Plan sets out the key activities which the Council will undertake to ensure that it is making an impact in the district by working in partnership to improve the lives and well-being of our communities and provide the best quality experience for those visiting the district.

Launching the 8-week consultation, the Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Siobhán Currie, said:

“The Corporate Plan, when finalised, will outline the strategic direction of the Council over the next 4 years and will contribute towards the delivery of the 8 long term outcomes across 3 key themes; people and communities; economy, infrastructure and skills; and the environment, which you, our residents, have told us will improve the quality of life in our district.

The Council is committed to ongoing engagement with our residents and stakeholders to help inform its priorities and also ensure effective delivery of the new Corporate Plan, and we encourage people to take this opportunity to have your say.”

A set of six core values underpins the implementation of the Corporate Plan. These are Leadership, A People Focus, Integrity, Innovation, Accountability and Sustainability.

The plan reflects Fermanagh and Omagh District Council’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals which were adopted in 2015 by the UN member states and which calls for economic growth, innovation, circular economies and upgraded infrastructure, as well as providing a path to end extreme poverty, fight inequality and protect the planet. The Council has worked to align its values, outcomes and actions to the Sustainable Development Goals and it is these goals which will be to the forefront of the Council’s decision-making process as it works to implement this 4 year plan.

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is keen to hear your views on its proposals.

Over an 8-week period, commencing on Monday 30 September 2019, the Council will provide a range of opportunities so that everyone has a chance to get involved in contributing to shaping the Corporate Plan. A copy of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council’s draft Corporate Plan is available to download from this website and hard copies of the draft plan will be available in key Council buildings.

Residents will have the opportunity to have their say at a series of public engagement events which will take place throughout the district during ‘Local Democracy Week’ which runs from Monday 14 to Friday 18 October 2019 or by completing an online survey from Monday 30 September 2019. A social media campaign and engagement events with target groups will also take place during the 8-week consultation period which closes on 25 November 2019.
