Council to light up Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre in September

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council will illuminate Enniskillen Castle and the Strule Arts Centre, Omagh on selected dates in September in support of a number of causes and initiatives.
On Tuesday 8 September 2020 Enniskillen Castle and the Strule Arts Centre will be lit up pink on behalf of the NI Organ Donation Services Team and the NHS Blood and Transplant Services for Organ Donation Week.
Organ Donation Week takes place from Monday 7 – Sunday 13 September 2020 and celebrates the gift of life through organ donation.
Both buildings will then be illuminated blue on Monday 21 September 2020 on behalf of the Alzheimer’s Society for World Alzheimer’s Day and to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease which affects many in society.
On Tuesday 22 September 2020 Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is lighting Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre green for Recycle Week which runs from Monday 21 to Sunday 27 September 2020.
This year’s theme will thank people for continuing to recycle despite the challenges of Covid-19, under the banner ‘Together – We Recycle’.
Friday 25 September 2020 will see Enniskillen Castle and the Strule Arts Centre illuminated yellow on behalf of Marie Curie and its ‘Twilight Walk.’
The Twilight Walk is a walking event that provides a way to remember loved ones and celebrate the work of Marie Curie.
On Wednesday 30 September 2020 both buildings will be illuminated gold for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month on behalf of Alice’s Arc.
Childhood Cancer Awareness Month takes place in September and aims to raise awareness of the early symptoms.
Fermanagh and Omagh District Council illuminates buildings to recognise days of significance to groups within the wider community.
The Council also illuminates buildings in support of a particular campaign or charity.
