Council to light up buildings on selected dates in April

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council will illuminate Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre, Omagh on selected dates throughout the month of April.

Both buildings will be illuminated blue on Monday 11 April to mark World Parkinsons Day.  The aim of Parkinson’s Awareness Day is to raise awareness of Parkinson’s disease, promoting a greater understanding of this condition and how it can affect a person.

Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre will be illuminated green on Friday 22 April in recognition of Earth Day.  Earth Day is an annual event demonstrating support for environmental protection.

On Thursday 28 April both buildings will be illuminated purple to mark Workers’ Memorial Day.  Workers’ Memorial Day is an international day of remembrance for workers killed, disabled, injured, or made unwell by their work.

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council illuminates buildings to recognise days of significance to groups within the wider community. The Council also illuminates buildings in support of a particular campaign, charity or initiative.
