Council to illuminate Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre, Omagh on selected dates in May.

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council will illuminate Enniskillen Castle and the Strule Arts Centre, Omagh on selected dates throughout the month of May.

Both buildings will be illuminated red on Saturday 1 May by the Council to mark International Workers Day to celebrate the rights and achievements of workers.

Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre will then be lit up purple on Monday 3 May by the Council to remember and commemorate the centenary of the implementation of the Government of Ireland Act 1920.

The Council will then illuminate both buildings green on Saturday 8 May to mark World Fairtrade Day and again on Monday 10 May to mark Mental Health Awareness Week.

Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre Omagh will be lit up blue on Wednesday 12 May to celebrate International Nurses Day on behalf of the Department of Health to recognise the selflessness, compassion and dedication of nurses and midwives.

At the request of the Huntingdon’s Disease Association of Northern Ireland, both buildings will be lit up blue on 15 May 2021 to mark International Huntingdon’s Disease Awareness Day. Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre will be illuminated blue on Monday 17 May on behalf of Nerve Tumours UK to mark Neurofibromatosis Awareness Day. For further information on Neurofibromatosis please visit www.nervetumours.org.uk .

At the request of Brain Injury Matters, both buildings will also be lit up blue, the following evening, Tuesday 18 May, to mark Brain Injury Week.

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council illuminates buildings to recognise days of significance to groups within the wider community. The Council also illuminates buildings in support of a particular campaign, charity or initiative.
