Council launches new Business Support Programme to help local businesses

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council recently launched the “Innovating Business Growth” programme, an exciting new hybrid programme to support businesses across the district from inception through sales innovation to growth.
The Innovating Business Growth Programme is part funded by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund under the Investment for Growth & Jobs Northern Ireland (2014-2020) programme.
The programme is free and open to all businesses based in the district that have fewer than 50 employees. Eligible businesses will receive up to 21 hours of bespoke mentoring support from a pool of experienced expert business advisors and access to specialist workshops.
The new Programme consists of two strands:
Strand 1 is a ‘Sales Academy’ open to businesses trading at least 12 months, and focuses on business sales growth potential, enabling businesses to fully integrate new and emerging sales mechanisms into their business processes.
Strand 2 extends the current Kick Start programme and is open to businesses that are trading less than 3 years and aims to ensure that businesses in their infancy have targeted support to enhance survival rates.
Speaking about the programme the Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Errol Thompson said,
“Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is delighted to offer such an exciting, innovative and results-focused initiative to support small businesses within our council area. This initiative will complement the Council’s existing suite of free business support programmes. It is anticipated that demand for places will be significant, and I would encourage even the smallest of businesses to consider taking part.
This Innovating Business Growth programme will help fast-track the efforts of many business owner-managers to boost sales, develop best practice and evolve through bespoke one-to-one mentoring support and skills development workshops.”
