With the onset of a new year, it is traditional for many of us to think about a New Year’s Resolution.  Whether it is to do more exercise, eat more healthily, or do more acts of kindness, this is a good time to think about the year ahead and how we can make it better for both ourselves and for others too.

2020 has been a very challenging year for us all, but with the vaccine programme now being rolled out it is my sincere hope that we can finally turn a corner and resume life as we once knew it, seeing our elderly relatives without fear, going to work in our workplaces, travelling without restrictions and our hospitals and care homes operating without the immense pressures of Covid-19.

However this New Year, in particular, we need the resolve to  follow the guidance of Hands, Face, Space and I appeal to you to avoid gatherings in your homes in order that we can continue to protect the vulnerable and ease the pressure on our NHS and prevent a further rise in cases.

If we can show this restraint around this time, then better days will come sooner.

Whatever your New Year’s Resolution, I hope we can all look forward to brighter and better days ahead..

Wishing you and yours a very Happy New Year.
