Council announces winner of Town Centre survey competition
25th October 2021
Fermanagh and Omagh District Council recently conducted a survey to ascertain the views and opinions of shoppers and visitors from across the district on how to improve the town centre shopping experience in Omagh and Enniskillen and what measures could be taken to encourage them back into the town centres to shop as we emerge from the pandemic.
All respondents were entered into a draw to win any of the visitor experiences across the Fermanagh and Omagh District. More than 300 people completed the survey and the lucky winner of the draw was Maria Forde from Enniskillen who was presented with vouchers to enjoy the ‘Enniskillen Taste Experience’, by the Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Errol Thompson.
In presenting Maria with her voucher, Councillor Thompson said
“I would like to congratulate Maria on her windfall and I am confident that she will enjoy the ‘Enniskillen Taste Experience’.
Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is committed to promoting and facilitating the recovery of our town centres and we acknowledge that many of our town centre businesses have suffered greatly as a result of the restrictions necessary to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. The Council is working in partnership with the town centre business community in Omagh and Enniskillen to support a sustainable long-term recovery and to encourage shoppers to return to the shops.
I would also encourage people to “Spend it Local” when it comes to using the £100 Spend Local cards. In so doing you will be supporting our local businesses who contribute so much to the economic and employment base, not only in Omagh and Enniskillen but across all of our towns and villages.”
