Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is delighted to announce the completion of improvement works at Belcoo and Garrison play parks as part of the continued delivery of the Council’s Play Park Strategy 2020-2030. The improvement works at Cottage Lawn, Belcoo and Rusheen Park, Garrison provide enhanced quality, choice, accessibility and inclusion for all children and young people.

Speaking about the play park upgrades, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Barry McElduff, said:

“I welcome the completion of the works at Cottage Lawn and Rusheen Park play parks to provide better play facilities for our children and young people.

Play Parks are a hugely important facet of community life, both urban and rural, providing safe, accessible and inclusive facilities for children and families.

Play Parks help to encourage our children and young people to get outdoors and get active and improve their ABCs – agility, balance and coordination.

At a time when we are all so aware of the importance of mental health and wellbeing, these play parks also provides an opportunity to connect with nature and the open green space.”

The Council’s Play Park Strategy s an ambitious ten year plan to guide the provision, sustainable management and development of play parks across the District.
