Relaxed Tours – Marble Arch Caves Global Geopark

Going forward, from the commencement of the 2019 Summer Season, ‘Relaxed Tours’ of the Marble Arch Caves Global Geopark will be reserved on one morning per month for people with disabilities.

The tours will take place on days which are traditionally less busy, helping to ensure a more relaxed atmosphere for all visitors.

The dates will be released shortly and these will be published online (Council website and social media), as well as being communicated to local groups and individuals who work with people with disabilities.

Some features of the Relaxed Tours will include:

Two tour guides accompanying each tour group (at the front and rear of each group).
Smaller tour groups – where possible.
The provision of ear defenders for any person who requires one.
The opportunity to adapt each tour to suit the needs and abilities of individuals (e.g. removal of the boat aspect, shortening the walking tour, etc).

The introduction of the ‘Relaxed Tours’ follows from the recent Taster Tours which offered groups the opportunity to participate on a Tour and provide feedback on adjustments that could improve the visitor experience.
