Public Consultation on the Draft Ulster Scots Policy

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is currently seeking feedback on the draft Ulster Scots Policy.
The draft Ulster Scots Policy aims to protect, promote and enhance Ulster Scots culture and heritage, including its language, arts and literature. This draft Policy is a local response to various regional, national and international initiatives and programmes as well as the statutory obligations for the Council. It aspires to help promote respect, understanding and good relations within the Council and the District.
The Ulster Scots Policy will function within the broader context of the Council’s Corporate and Community Plans, Good Relations Strategy and Linguistic Diversity Policy all of which can be found online.
The consultation, as well as this response questionnaires, focuses on three key areas, namely:
- Aims of the Ulster Scots Policy.
- Objectives of the Ulster Scots Policy.
- Principles of the Ulster Scots Policy.
