What is Place Shaping ?

Place Shaping looks at how we can make our communities stronger and more resilient in the future through understanding what we have in terms of assets, i.e., our buildings, our green spaces, our brownfield sites, our skills and knowledge, our community groups, and our public services. We want to build on our history, our strategic geographic and economic location; our tourism potential to secure a sustainable social, economic, and physical regeneration.

How are we developing the Place Shaping Plan in Enniskillen ?

Co creation with Partners

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council appointed KPMG to oversee the development of a co-designed Place Shaping Plan for Enniskillen in April 2022. A steering group made up of a wide range of relevant statutory bodies, community and voluntary sector and business representatives was set up. Click link here to see membership

Data and Evidence Baseline Report

Over the past number of months research gathering of data and evidence, community input and local knowledge has taken place. You can download a copy of the Data and Evidence Baseline report here

Participative Engagement

A Draft Plan was prepared for consultation during the from 9th January until 27th February 2023. You can download a copy of the Draft Plan here.

The Plan

Detailed analysis of the engagement is underway and will be presented to Council in March for approval.
