Health & Safety

Ensuring the health, safety and welfare of people at work and other people that may be affected by their work activities e.g. members of the public, in certain work premises, is the responsibility of the Council’s Environmental Health Officers.  They deal with three key areas – advice, training and enforcement.

In terms of enforcement, staff will routinely visit Business premises to check standards and assess the approach to managing health and safety.

Complaints and accidents will be investigated and where necessary enforcement action will be taken.
