The PEACE IV Community Lives Programme delivered by Verbal Arts will focus on areas in Omagh and Enniskillen Towns across 3 interrelated strands:
- Capturing the History
- Mapping the Present
- Imagining the Future
The first strand “Capturing the History” brings together adults from different religious backgrounds. Verbal Arts will undertake community based research, reminiscence work and inter-generational work with residents and former residents of Strathroy, Hospital Road and surrounding areas (Omagh) and Kilmacormick and Coleshill, to include the surrounding areas (Enniskillen); to record and represent the living history of the areas.
Participants will have the opportunity to produce publications and online materials, as well as work with a professional photographer to produce an exhibition of work which will be displayed in venues in Enniskillen and Omagh. The “Mapping the Present” strand will work with community and youth groups across the various areas and bring them together through the development of skills in film making, photography and mixed-media. The participants will have the opportunity to create short digital stories, which highlight the challenges the young people involved face in today’s society. The remaining strand “Imagining the Future” will bring together the work from Capturing the History and Mapping the Present.
Participants will walk through a series of sessions which will allow them the opportunity to have their voice heard and develop their visions for the future. To register your interest and to become a participant please complete the Registration Form or contact:
