Getting food businesses ready for EU Exit
The UK is leaving the EU and this means businesses may need to prepare for change. Delivering a negotiated deal with the EU remains the Government’s top priority. However, the Government must plan for every eventuality, including a no deal scenario. Without a deal, businesses may need to take action before 12 April 2019.
Government departments have published advice on the steps that food businesses may need to take to prepare for exit from the EU. Businesses should visit https://euexitbusiness.campaign.gov.uk/ to check how they will be affected and what actions they can take to prepare. Advice from the Food Standards Agency can also be found at https://www.food.gov.uk/business-guidance/prepare-your-business-for-the-uk-leaving-the-eu
