Age Friendly Conference March 2022

More than 70 older people from across the Fermanagh and Omagh district attended an the annual ‘Age Friendly’ conference on Wednesday 2 March 2022 which was held virtually.
The conference, organised by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, in conjunction with South West Age Partnership, with funding from the Department for Communities, Covid-19 Financial Inclusion Fund, provided those in attendance with the opportunity to hear from a number of speakers on issues relating to finances for older people.
The conference provided those in attendance with the opportunity to hear from a number of speakers including Linda McAuley MBE, BBC Radio Ulster presenter of “On your Behalf” and Margaret McCloskey from Mainly about Pensions (MAPS).
A number of breakout rooms allowed delegates an opportunity to engage and ask questions around topics including

- Jemma – WHSCT – Saving money on your food shop
- Ronan – Consumer council – safe shopping online
- Brian – MAPS – Pensions
- Jill – Omagh Advice Centre – Debt advice
- Claire – FODC – energy efficiency
- Margaret – MAPS – budgeting tool
All delegates received a conference pack and afternoon tea box delivered by Easilink and Fermanagh Community Transport.
