Age Friendly 2021 Calendar
Recognising that we all need a little extra help and support especially at this time, we have launched a 2021 calendar for older people in partnership with the Western Health and Social Care Trust, South West Age Partnership, Derry City and Strabane District Council, Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council and the Public Health Agency.
Funded by the Department of Health through the Western Protect Life Implementation Group, the calendar addresses emotional health in later years, encouraging older people to take five simple steps to improve their wellbeing – connect, be active, take notice, keep learning, give.
The calendar has also been adapted for each Council area and includes signposting to a range of local services and helplines to support mental wellbeing. Calendars have been delivered to around 10,000 older people’s homes across the Western Trust area.
While it is important to know how to protect your mental health, it is also important to know that there is always help available when you need it.
Lifeline is a crisis response helpline operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If you are in distress or despair you can call Lifeline on 0808 808 8000 and talk to an experienced counsellor in confidence.
