Lough Erne Pilgrim Way

The Lough Erne Pilgrim Way project focuses on the development of key sites around Upper and Lower Lough Erne.

The project will create a journey through improving physical and/or virtual access to each of the sites. The Lough Erne Pilgrim Way will be inspired by the historic pilgrimage route along the Erne to Lough Derg in Co. Donegal that can be used as a catalyst to engage visitors, residents and communities.

Project Objectives:

  • To enhance physical and/or intellectual access to at least 10 sites associated with the ecclesiastic heritage of the Lough Erne landscape area
  • To increase awareness and understanding of the history and heritage of the great island monasteries
