 The 13th 1 FT SQ small works Art Exhibition will be exhibited in December 2020 – January 2021 Online

Exhibition dates:  4 December 2020 virtual launch @ 7- 8.30 pm running through to 9th January 2021

This year’s exhibition is free of charge due to Covid19, commission will still apply on sales.

Deadline to apply: Friday 6 November 2020 @ 5pm

  • 1st Prize 2-week Artists residency at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre
  • 2nd Prize Solo exhibition at The Strule Arts Centre
  • 3rd Prize £150 towards artists materials

  1. I haven’t yet received a form. When will I receive one?

This year our application is digital please see our 1 FT SQ submission portal on the Councils Arts & Culture pages at www.fermanaghomagh.com

  1. I’d like to be considered for the exhibition what do I do?

Please complete your full application for 1 FT SQ via our web site: www.fermanaghomagh.com this should include your images of 1 FT SQ that you intend to exhibit, application form before the deadline as detailed above. As part of this exhibition please also send us a 90 second video clip of you promoting your work as an artist.

  1. Do you accept work from outside Ireland?

Yes, however this years event is virtual we will not need your physical art work unless you achieve a sale.
Please ensure that work from outside the EU is customs compliant. The Council will not pay customs charges or duty on any artwork.

  1. How many works can I submit and what does it cost?

You can submit up to 5 works and there is no charge this year as the exhibition will be virtual.

  1. I have sent an email expressing my interest – what now?

If you are selected to participate in this year’s exhibition then please ensure that all of your work is clearly labelled with your name, title of work, address, contact number / email & price of work inclusive of 25% commission . This helps us identify your work – we receive many applications each year and works without this information will not be accepted.

  1. Work must be of a high standard + be professionally presented. What does this mean?

This means that the piece/s of work that you submit online are ready for installation at the exhibition and that no further work is needed on the piece for installation. It must be completely ready for us to hang and of a high standard suitable for public exhibition. All styles of artwork & standards are being considered for this year’s exhibition to open up the arts for everyone / create opportunity for the emerging and professional artist.

  1. Is there a restriction on scale for this exhibition?

Yes all work must be 1 FT SQ square in all dimensions which is:

12 inches x 12 inches (with or without frame) out-scaled work will not be accepted.

  1. Does work have to be marked for sale?

All work must be for sale

  1. How does selection work?

All work will be pre-selected by the Arts Service, all work must be of a high standard. Artists will be notified of this decision by the start of November.

  1. How much commission do you take?

25% Commission plus VAT is taken on all work sold during the exhibition. Artists who have sold work will be paid after the exhibition comes to close via electronic transfer if based in NI or by sterling cheque if based in the ROI or elsewhere. Sold work will be collected after the exhibition by purchasers and this will be arranged by the Arts Service.

11.Can I replace any sold work in the exhibition?

N/A

  1. If my work sells, when will I be paid?

The Council pay shortly via electronic transfer after they have received payment from the buyer once work has been collected and a supplier form has been received from the artist.
