LRS Coaching Programme – Coach Request (EoI) Application Form

Overview

 

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council’s, Leisure, Recreation and Sport (LRS) department facilitate the delivery of a wide range of coaching opportunities across the District area each year in partnership with Sport Northern Ireland (Every – Body Active 2020 initiative) and the Public Health Agency (Healthy Towns initiative).

 

Participation within programmes is free of charge.

 

The Every Body Active (EBA) 2020 programme is a lottery funded programme which aims to increase participation in sport and physical activity with a particular emphasis on, women and girls (specifically those aged 14 – 25), people with a disability and those living in areas of high – social need.

 

Examples of programmes facilitated as part of the Every – Body Active 2020 initiative include; youth and adult multi – sports / skills sessions including activity specific sessions, for example, netball; inclusive activities, for example, kurling and chair – based exercise plus various others.

 

The Healthy Towns programme is funded by the Public Health Agency (PHA) under the ‘Making Life Better’ framework of Empowering Healthy Living.  

 

Examples of programmes facilitated as part of the Healthy Towns initiative; include; step challenge (walking) programmes, couch to 5k programmes; inclusive activities, for example, boccia and chi – me and ladies and men’s circuits sessions plus various others.

 

Programmes as part of either initiative generally operate for a period of 12 – weeks (i.e. weekly one – hour sessions) however individual (one – off) activity sessions can potentially be facilitated.

Please note, the submission of a Coaching Request – Expression of Interest Application Form is not a confirmation or guarantee that your request can be facilitated.

 

Programme capacity / delivery is limited with applications processed on a first come, first served basis.

 

Following the completion and submission of a coaching programme request EoI application form, an LRS Officer from Fermanagh and Omagh District Council will liaise with programme applicant to discuss further prior to confirmation.
