Inclusive Bike Hire Scheme
Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is launching a free, inclusive bike hire scheme.
The Council in partnership with Disability Sport NI has purchased adapted bike/trikes with funding provided by the Department for Communities (DfC) through Sport Northern Ireland. The equipment is located at Fermanagh Lakeland Forum and Omagh Leisure Complex and available for hire, as part of the Council’s Disability Hub Project.
Coach led programmes are delivered throughout the year, for people with disabilities to try out the various adapted bikes/trikes.
Once this training is complete, participants can then hire the bikes/trike at their own leisure.
Please note the hire scheme is currently restricted, to use of running track only.
To hire an adapted trike/bike, you must give 48 hours notice for the booking process. You will then receive confirmation noting availability of trike/bike and running track.
Experienced staff will carry out a brief refresher on how to use your hire bike/trike and provide any guidance needed.
To hire a bike/trike, you must be accompanied by an adult / carer.

Designed to ensure that all riders with physical difficulties, learning difficulties or visual impairments, stay safe outdoors in any situation, no matter how challenging. Carer Control or Carer Braking.

Tandem
Suitable for participants with sight loss.
Available for use in both Omagh and Fermanagh.
Currently not available for hire due to Covid restrictions
Adult Bullet Trike
This trike has power assist for riders who suffer from weakness and fatigue. Carer Control or Carer Braking
Only available for use in Fermanagh.
Wheelchair Transport
Designed for transporting people, who can remain seated in their own wheelchair, by cycle. Almost every wheelchair is suitable
Only available for use in Fermanagh.
