Gortin Glen Forest Park
An agreement has been put in place between Fermanagh and Omagh District Council and Forest Service NI (April 2019), whereby the Council has taken responsibility for recreational areas of the Gortin Glen Forest Park.
The Council is currently progressing the redevelopment of Gortin Glen Forest Park to transform it into a family friendly outdoor experience including a destination play park, trim trail, additional parking and the creation of Mountain Bike Trails which are all now open. Work has commenced on the upgrade of the forest buildings and other associated works will begin shortly and are due to complete in Spring 2021.
Temporary toilets are in place next to the playpark and we apologise for this temporary inconvenience.
The development works reflects the Council’s investment priorities linked to health, well-being and recreational outcomes as identified in the Fermanagh and Omagh 2030 Community Plan. The Council has identified the Forest Park as an outdoor resource that has potential for supporting the delivery of long-term health and well-being for residents of the Fermanagh and Omagh District and its visitors.
