Coach Education Programme 2022

Fermanagh and Omagh Sports Forum in partnership with Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has organised a series of workshops as part of the Coach Education Programme 2022, details of which are outlined below.

Workshop Descriptions

Disability Inclusion Training (in partnership with DSNI)

The Disability Inclusion Training workshop features a PowerPoint and interactive activities which aims to give attendees a better understanding of the latest thinking in terms of disability and how to provide more opportunities for people with disabilities in a sport and recreation setting.

 

Safeguarding Children and Young People (in partnership with SNI)

The Safeguarding Children and Young People workshop aims to raise awareness of child safeguarding issues in sport and introduces attendees to what is good practice for children’s sport and how to report any concern. The Safeguarding Children and Young People workshop is important for all adults involved in children’s sport, but is essential for coaches, leaders, administrators, and officials.

Please note, applicants are required to complete mandatory pre – learning prior to attendance at the Safeguarding Children and Young People workshop. Pre – learning material will be sent from Sport Northern Ireland in advance of the session.

 

Autism and Sports Coaching (in partnership with DSNI)

The Disability Sport Northern Ireland Autism and Sports Coaching workshop has been developed in partnership with Autism initiatives and is designed specifically for sports coaches and physical activity leaders who want to further their knowledge on how to fully include participants with Autism in their session.

 

Designated Safeguarding Children’s Officer Training (in partnership with SNI)

The Designated Safeguarding Children’s Officer Training course aims to support those undertaking the role of Designated Safeguarding Children’s Officer including the importance of creating a culture where good practice is the norm; how to respond in a range of situations or concerns; and how to implement safeguarding standards.

Please note, applicants are required to complete mandatory pre – learning prior to attendance at Designated Safeguarding Children’s Officer workshop. Pre – learning material will be sent from Sport Northern Ireland in advance of the session.

 

Inclusive Skills and Games (in partnership with DSNI)

The Disability Sport Northern Ireland Inclusive Skills and Games workshop is designed to provide those working in a sports or physical activity environment with the knowledge required to run fundamental activities and games in an inclusive and fun way.
