What goes in my bin?

The blue bin is for householders to dispose of recyclable waste such as newspapers, paper, envelopes (except for padded), magazines, tins, cans, aerosol tins, cartons, cardboard and plastic packaging.

The brown bins are used for the collection of food and garden waste.  Examples of items suitable for placing into the brown bin include items such as meat and fish (raw or cooked), bread, cereals as well as grass and hedge cuttings, cold ashes, teabags and egg shells.

The green/black bin is for all non-recyclable waste such as nappies, plastic bags, sweet and crisp wrappers.

For further information on which items to place in your bin, please download an information leaflet from the download section on the right.
