Works to extend Omagh’s Greenhill Cemetery

Published: 2nd September 2016

Works to create additional burial space at Greenhill Cemetery, Omagh, will start on Monday 5 September 2016.

The development works to Greenhill Cemetery, which is managed by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, will involve the creation of additional burial plots on existing undeveloped land. Existing sections A-D within the cemetery will be unaffected by the works and will remain open while development works are ongoing.

The Council will closely monitor the development to ensure works are carried out sensitively. The Council will also work closely with local undertakers during the development and will suspend works to the site for the duration of burial services to ensure minimal disruption.

It is anticipated the development to extend the cemetery will be complete by mid-December, however poor weather conditions may have an impact on this timeframe.

We wish to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.
