BBC Proms in the Park takes place on Saturday 09 September 2017 from the grounds of National Trust property, Castle Coole, County Fermanagh.

To create a musical atmosphere in the lead up to the BBC event, Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, the National Trust, Fermanagh Lakeland Tourism, Enniskillen Business Improvement District (BID) and Waterways Ireland have organised a number of pre Proms activities in and around Enniskillen.

This coming weekend look out for operatic singers Drawing Room Opera when they perform on Saturday 19 August in the Diamond at 12.30 pm and Enniskillen Castle Museum at 3 pm. On Sunday 20 August they will play at the Round O Park at 1.30 pm and later that afternoon in Castle Coole at 3 pm.

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council’s Bands Programme at the Round O Park features Fermanagh Concert Band on Sunday 20 August and Ballyreagh Silver Band on Sunday 27 August between 2.30 pm and 4 pm. Castle Coole will host summer music sessions throughout August which includes performances from Oisin McManus on Thursdays prior to afternoon tours and each Saturday between 10.30 am and 11 am. Enjoy easy listening blues band Below the Line on Sunday 20 August and Arco String Quartet play on Sunday 27 August between 2 pm and 4 pm. Normal Castle Coole admission prices apply.

The partner group of organisations hope that the musical performances will provide a welcoming sound for local audiences and visitors to the area in the build up to BBC Proms in the Park. The group are also working together to provide a warm welcome to visitors to the district attending BBC Proms through a range of marketing activities.
