Ticket Applications Open for BBC Proms in the Park in County Fermanagh

Ticket applications opened on Monday 19 June for this year’s BBC Proms in the Park in Northern Ireland, which will be live from the grounds of National Trust property, Castle Coole in County Fermanagh on Saturday 9 September.

This is the first time the event will be staged in County Fermanagh, and it will give local audiences the opportunity to join in the music-making spectacular that is the Last Night of the Proms.

Applications to BBC Proms in the Park at Castle Coole, can be made until Monday, 10 July at 5.00pm.

Tickets will be allocated by random draw and will be distributed by an external company (Ticketmaster) on the BBC’s behalf. Successful applicants will be notified by them shortly after the closing date for applications and will be required to pay a registration/administration charge of £1.50 per transaction. This will contribute to the costs associated with the printing, distribution and on-site verification of tickets.

You can apply for up to four BBC Proms in the Park tickets per household address. Duplicate applications will not be considered and tickets obtained by successful applicants should not be made available for sale.

Please note that for reasons of audience safety, there will be no pedestrian access to the Castle Coole site. A free shuttle bus service will operate for all concert-goers from Enniskillen to Castle Coole – details of which will be included with people’s ticket/s. All usual arrangements will be in place for audience members with access requirements.

BBC Proms in the Park remains one of BBC Northern Ireland’s most ambitious, and popular outside broadcasts. Approximately 6,000 tickets will be available for the event at Castle Coole, Enniskillen.

The event is supported by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council and Tourism Northern Ireland.

Now in its 16th year, this year’s BBC Proms in the Park Northern Ireland will bring together internationally acclaimed performers from home and around the world. They will be performing alongside the Ulster Orchestra under the baton of David Brophy, in a programme which combines classical and contemporary music and a few surprises.

This concert will be part of broadcast celebrations to mark the Last Night of the Proms, and will link music-making festivities at London’s Royal Albert Hall with BBC events around the UK. The BBC Proms is the largest classical music festival in the world, with over 90 events taking place across eight weeks in 2017 from July 14 – September 9

Viewers at home will be able to join in the excitement.. On the night, audiences to the BBC Red Button can see a curated offering of highlights from Castle Coole and the three other Proms in the Park venues, available for 30 days thereafter on BBC iPlayer. And the BBC network television services will link with Castle Coole, County Fermanagh, with live coverage of key moments from the evening’s entertainment. Highlights programmes will be recorded for later transmission on BBC NI television, BBC Four and the BBC iPlayer. Selected extracts from Castle Coole will also be available on BBC You Tube and the entire concert will also be broadcast live throughout the evening on BBC Radio Ulster presented by John Toal and online for audiences at home and around the world.

BBC Proms in the Park in Northern Ireland will be presented on stage by Noel Thompson and Claire McCollum.
