More than 250 children took part in this year’s Omagh Primary Schools Cross Country Championships at Omagh Leisure Complex.

The event, organised by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, took place on Tuesday 13 June 2017 with 8 primary schools participating.

The Chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Stephen McCann, commended all those who took part in the event.

“Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is committed to encouraging everyone in the district to embrace a healthy and active lifestyle.

The Primary School Cross Country Championships enables our young residents to participate in a large scale, structured sporting event while having fun. All the girls and boys who competed should be very proud of themselves, and I would like to congratulate them in participating in such great numbers.  I would also like to thank the schools for their support.”
