The state-of-the-art Omagh Leisure Complex is set to celebrate its one-year anniversary of reopening to the public after the completion of its multi-million pound refurbishment programme last year.

The refurbishment programme included a new aquatic centre, upgraded Health suite and Fitness suite, new training zone with Synergy Rig – a central, functional movement rig located in the gym – and the installation of the only indoor sprint track in the Fermanagh and Omagh district.

To mark the one-year anniversary, Omagh Leisure Complex is running a series of ‘Come and Try It’ taster sessions on 1 July 2015 for £1 per activity per person from 9 am to 5 pm.  Taster sessions on offer will include fitness classes, group sports and games, and a swim in the aquatic centre, which includes a 25-metre deck-level pool, a 12-metre learner pool and ‘figure of eight’ toddler pool with water feature for added fun,.

People will also be able to try out the Health Suite, which includes a 25 seater Jacuzzi, steam and sauna cabins, for £1 from 9 am to 5 pm on July 1st.

Since reopening to the public on 1 July 2014, there have been more than 330,000 admissions to Omagh Leisure Complex. This includes 2,200 babies and children, 200 adults and 1,600 pupils from 27 schools building water confidence or learning how to swim in the Complex’s aquatic centre.

Senior citizens and people with a disability can swim for free on set days and times at the Complex while carers, who accompany and provide assistance to people with a disability using the Complex, may avail of leisure facilities at no cost. Reduced admission rates are also available to those aged under 18 and over 60 and people with a disability.

Deborah Maxwell, Manager at Omagh Leisure Complex said:

‘Omagh Leisure Complex is used by a diverse range of people and groups which helps to make the Complex a success. We hope that new additions to our programme such as National Pool Lifeguard Qualification Courses, Lifesaving and Rookie classes, yoga progression classes and a number of new membership packages for families, students, sports teams and clubs will not only appeal to our existing customer base but will attract new patrons from the district and beyond.’
