Published: 22nd May 2015

Children and young people will have the chance to get active and have fun this summer with the launch of Omagh Leisure Complex’s multi-sports summer camps and activities.

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council’s Chairman, Councillor Thomas O’Reilly, launched the Complex’s children’s summer camp and activities with help from Gibson Primary School pupils, Colchester United footballer Jamie Harney and Leeds United footballer, Robbie McDaid.

Chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Thomas O’Reilly, said:

“Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is committed to supporting our young people across the district to lead a healthy and active lifestyle and I am delighted to launch Omagh Leisure Complex’s multi-sports children’s summer camps.

These camps are a wonderful way for our children and young people to get active, develop skills and have fun in a safe and friendly environment during the summer holidays.”

The camps, which are split into Junior Camp for 4 to 7 year olds, Senior Camp for 8 to 12 year olds and Dive and Dribble for 12 to 15 year olds, operate for six weeks throughout the summer, from £20 per week.

Activities include arts and crafts, active games, multi-skill sports, bouncy castle and kids yoga. Teens participating in the Dive and Dribble camp will also be able to enjoy a cool down swim in the extensive aquatic facilities at the complex after their soccer session.

Enrolment for the multi-sports camps opens at 9.00 am on Saturday 13 June 2015, while priority enrolment is available for ‘Fitness for Families’ members from 9.00 am on Saturday 6 June 2015.

As well as the children’s multi-sports camps, the Complex is also running Fast Track swimming lessons throughout the summer. The Fast Track swimming lessons, suitable for children and adults, are delivered over five days with intensive instruction. The lessons are suitable for beginners and for those wishing to improve their swimming technique.

Enrolment for the Fast Track swimming lessons takes place on Saturday 20 June 2015 at 10.00 am, with places offered on a first come, first served basis. Lessons last 40 minutes and cost £36 per set of five lessons.

The Complex is also offering special Family Membership packages and Student Membership packages.
