Irish language quiz in Strule Arts Centre

Published: 11th December 2015

The annual Tráth na gCeist agus Cóisir na Nollag (Christmas Quiz and Party) will take place in the Strule Arts Centre, Omagh on Wednesday 16 December 2015 at 8.00 pm.

Organised by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council’s Irish Language Unit, the popular event involves teams of four answering 40 general knowledge questions in Irish.  It will be arranged that each table will have at least one Irish speaker to interpret questions so people not fluent in the language can take part.  Prizes will include spot prizes and £15 Strule Arts Centre gift vouchers for members of the winning team.

A Christmas party will follow the quiz with music provided by Ray Moore, keyboard; Declan O’ Kane, fiddle; and friends.  They will also play for set and sean-nós dancers and provide accompaniment for singers.  Those who would like to perform a party piece are also welcome to take part.

Admission is free and booking is not necessary.

For further information on the Irish language table quiz please contact Kevin Goodwin, Fermanagh and Omagh District Council Irish Language Officer by telephoning 028 8225 6220 or emailing kevin.goodwin@fermanaghomagh.com.
