People will have the opportunity to find out more about the diversity of cultures within the Fermanagh and Omagh district at a multi-cultural food event taking place at the Ulster American Folk Park, Omagh on Saturday 20 August 2016.

‘A Taste of Culture’, organised by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council with support from a number of partner organisations, is a family friendly event that will celebrate and increase awareness and understanding of the rich variety of cultures, traditions and languages that are found within the district through international cuisine.

Speaking about ‘A Taste of Culture’, Chairperson of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Cllr Mary Garrity, said the event would introduce people of all ages and from all backgrounds to the rich cultural heritage of the district in a family friendly way.

“Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is committed to promoting diversity, inclusion and working in partnership with others to promote quality of life, quality places and quality services for all,” said Cllr Garrity.

“I am delighted to see that this event is so well supported by a number of partner organisations and I thank them for their input. By working together we all achieve more,” she added.

Taking place from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm on August 20, the event will include food sampling and multi-cultural entertainment. Those at the event will also be taken on a short guided tour of the Ulster American Folk Park which recently celebrated its 40thanniversary.
