Final Preparations for Enniskillen 10k Road Race and Leisure Walk

The final countdown is on to this year’s Enniskillen 10K Road Race and Leisure Walk which takes place on Saturday 10 June 2017.

With just over 1 week to go, participants are reminded to have their paper entries submitted by 5 pm on Monday 5 June and online entries By Tuesday 6 June 2017 to secure their place as late entries on the day cannot be guaranteed.

Organised by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council and supported by Enniskillen Rotary Club and the National Trust, the race will start at the Fermanagh Lakeland Forum at 2 pm sharp and all participants are encouraged to be at the start line in good time.

The Enniskillen 10k Road Race and Leisure Walk is one of the district’s largest sporting events and carries a total prize fund of £1,500 prize fund and further spot prizes on the day. This year, the event has been accorded additional prestige as it has been included within the Novosco Grand Prix Series. This prestigious multi – race competition comprises fifteen 10k races in Northern Ireland running from March to November 2017 and carries a range of prizes. The Council’s Director of Community, Health and Leisure, Robert Gibson said, “ the Council is once again delighted to be working in partnership with Enniskillen Rotary Club and the National Trust to organise what is one of the district’s largest mass participation events attracting participants from near and far.”

Free children’s entertainment, including face painting and bouncy castles, begins on the day at 11 am. The children’s fun run, suitable for age groups between pre-school and Primary 7, takes place on the grass playing fields beside Enniskillen Castle and will commence at 12 noon. Entry to the children’s fun run is free and registration is not required.

Charities are set to benefit from the Enniskillen 10k Road Race and Leisure Walk with many participants raising funds for their chosen charitable cause.
