Final call for entries to Enniskillen 10k Road Race and Leisure Walk

Published: 1st June 2015

The final countdown is on to this year’s Enniskillen 10K Road Race and Leisure Walk which takes place on Saturday 13 June 2015.

With just two weeks to go, participants are reminded to have their paper entries submitted by 5 pm on Wednesday 3 June and online entries by midnight on Sunday 7 June 2015.

Organised by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council and supported by Enniskillen Rotary Club and the National Trust, the race will start at the Fermanagh Lakeland Forum at 2 pm.

The Enniskillen 10k Road Race and Leisure Walk is one of the district’s largest sporting events with a £1,500 prize fund and further spot prizes on the day.

Chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Thomas O’Reilly, said the Council was pleased to work in partnership with Enniskillen Rotary Club and the National Trust to organise this year’s Enniskillen 10k.

“The Enniskillen 10k Road Race and Leisure Walk provides walking and running enthusiasts the opportunity to take part in one of the district’s most successful mass participation events. With two weeks to go there is still time to sign up for the event,” said the Chairman.

“We encourage people to bring the whole family and make a day of it with a free programme of children’s entertainment beginning at 11 am,” he added.

Free children’s entertainment, including face painting and bouncy castles, starts at 11 am. At 12 noon there will be a children’s fun run, suitable for age groups between pre-school and Primary 7, on the grass playing fields beside Enniskillen Castle.  Entry to the children’s fun run is free and registration is not required.

Charities are set to benefit from the Enniskillen 10k Road Race and Leisure Walk with many participants taking part in aid of their chosen charitable cause. Further information on how to raise money for charity can be found on the Enniskillen Rotary Club website, www.enniskillenrotaryclub.co.uk.

Late entries to the Enniskillen 10k will be available from 10 am at Fermanagh Lakeland Forum on Saturday 13 June 2015. People are encouraged to submit their paper entry by 5 pm Wednesday 3 June or to register online by midnight on Sunday 7 June to secure their place as late entries on the day cannot be guaranteed.
