Final call for aspiring actors to get involved in community pantomime

Published: 11th July 2016

Do you love to sing, dance or have always wanted to have a go at acting? Then now is your chance!

For the first time ever Fermanagh and Omagh District Council’s Strule Arts Centre is organising a pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, and is looking for members of the local community of all ages to take part.

Following an initial casting call in May, auditions for a number of the leading roles, dancers and parts in the chorus took place at the beginning of July, however a number of roles in the pantomime are still available.

An open casting call, which will involve fun group activities, will take place at the Strule Arts Centre on Saturday 23 July 2016 from 2.00 pm to 3.00 pm. No previous acting experience or preparation is required – just come along and get involved in the afternoon’s activities!

Encouraging people to get involved in the Strule Arts Centre’s Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime, Chairperson of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Mary Garrity, said

“The Strule Arts Centre pantomime is an exciting new project that will provide the opportunity for those who are new or accustomed to the stage to take part in a full scale production while meeting new people, learning new skills and having a lot of fun. I encourage anyone who has often thought they’d love to get on the stage but haven’t perhaps had the opportunity to do so, to come along to the open casting call on Saturday 23 July.”

The Strule Arts Centre pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, will run at the arts centre from 26 to 29 January 2017.

Anyone interested in taking part should go along to the open casting call at the Strule Arts Centre on Saturday 23 July 2016 at 1.45 pm. For further information please contact the Strule Arts Centre on 028 8224 7831 or email info@struleartscentre.co.uk.
