Council to light up Enniskillen Castle on selected dates during April

Published: 13th April 2017

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council will be marking various events taking place during the month of April by illuminating Enniskillen Castle.

On Thursday 20 April 2017, Enniskillen Castle will be lit-up purple to mark World Sarcoidosis Day. The aim is to raise awareness of the condition and to highlight the work of the Sarcoidosis Support Group in Enniskillen. Sarcoidosis is a rare autoimmune condition which affects the organs of the body most notably the lungs and skin. For further information on Enniskillen Sarcoidosis Support Group, please contact the group on enniskillensarc@yahoo.com.

Enniskillen Castle will also be illuminated purple on Friday 21 April 2017 to raise awareness of Rotary International’s “End Polio Now” Campaign. Polio, as a disease, was once a worldwide threat but has now been almost totally eradicated and Rotary is leading the drive to ensure that it disappears completely.
