Fermanagh and Omagh District Council’s first Connect Centre – a customer focused hub designed to improve access to Council services and information for its service users – is set to open in Omagh town centre on Monday 30 April 2018.

The Omagh Connect Centre will be located at the refurbished premises of the Council’s former Public Services Centre on High Street in Omagh. A second Connect Centre will open in Enniskillen in the autumn.

Residents will be able to access a range of information about Council services and carry out transactions with the Council at the town centre location, reducing the need to travel to the Council offices at The Grange, Omagh.

Speaking about the development of the two Connect Centres, Chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Stephen McCann, said:

“Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is committed to providing high quality services to meet the needs of its residents. Located within Omagh and Enniskillen town centres, the Connect Centres will act as important civic spaces where residents and our service users can access Council services and information with ease.”

Customer Service Advisers will be on hand at the Connect Centres to provide assistance on making a payment for a range of Council services and to answer a wide range of queries relating to general Council services.

Free compostable liners for food waste caddies, application forms for Council grants, bursaries, job opportunities and other Council programmes will be available. There will also be a self-service area where members of the public can view the Council website, complete Council transactions online and view planning applications.

A number of Omagh based Council services are located within the High Street building in Omagh to ensure that the Council’s public facing services are easily accessible to all its service users.

These include Planning; Building Control; Licensing (including dog licensing) and Economic and Regeneration and funded programmes such as Local Economic Development; Urban Regeneration; Rural Regeneration; Neighbourhood Renewal; Fermanagh and Omagh Local Action Group (LAG); Peace IV and the ASPIRE employability programme.

Customer Service Advisers will also be able to help service users directly contact Council service areas that are not located within the building.

Registration of births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships will continue to take place at the Council offices at the Grange, Omagh.

Services at all other Council facilities and offices including the Townhall, County Buildings and Killyvilly depot, Enniskillen and Lisnamallard House and Gortrush depot, Omagh continue to operate as normal.
