Council Buildings to be lit pink

Published: 15th June 2016

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is illuminating two of its buildings pink on Monday 20 June 2016 to mark Breastfeeding Awareness Week (20-26 June 2016).

Enniskillen Castle and the Strule Arts Centre, Omagh will be lit pink on June 20 as part of activities organised by the Breast Friends groups in Enniskillen and Omagh to raise awareness of and show support for breastfeeding.

The Breast Friends groups, which are ran by volunteers, support breast feeding mothers in the district. The Enniskillen group meets in the Barnabus Centre on Thursday mornings while the Omagh group meets on Tuesday mornings in Omagh Library.

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is a member of the Public Health Agency’s (PHA) Breastfeeding Welcome Here initiative and has breastfeeding welcome here signage displayed in a number of its facilities and venues.

The lighting up of Council buildings to mark specific days of significance is one way in which the Council may provide support to a particular charity. Enquiries regarding illuminating Council properties and charity support should be made to Louise McLaughlin, Community Services, Fermanagh and Omagh District Council by telephoning 0300 303 1777 or emailing louise.mclaughlin@fermanaghomagh.com.
