Council appoints new Director of Corporate Services and Governance

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has appointed Celine McCartan as its new Director of Corporate Services and Governance.

In this role, Celine will be responsible for the strategic direction of a range of corporate services including Human Resources and Organisation Development, Finance, Operations and Estates, and Democratic and Customer Services.

Celine is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. She trained with Coopers & Lybrand, now PWC, and has previous local government experience working in the former Strabane District Council. For the last 20 years, Celine has worked in the South West College where, as Deputy Director, she was responsible for finance, human resources, estates and student support services. She was part of the leadership team which delivered the new College building in Omagh and the merger of three Colleges to form the South West College. She was awarded an MBE for her services to further education in Northern Ireland in the 2015 New Year’s Honours list.

Celine is a native of Carrickmore and lives with her family in Killyclogher.

Celine will commence her employment with the Council as Director of Corporate Services and Governance in February 2017.
