The Chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Thomas O’Reilly, opened a new play area for the Drumbeg and Drumbawn areas of Enniskillen on Monday 18 May 2015.

The new play area, with a range of high quality play equipment including swings, see-saw, climbing frames and fireman’s pole, was completed at a cost of £60,000. The equipment installed also includes an ability whirl roundabout which is suitable for wheelchair users.

The development of this new play area is a continuation of the Council’s programme to provide bright, modern play facilities for children right across the district.

Speaking at the opening of the play area Councillor O’Reilly said “The Council recognises the importance of well-equipped, safe and attractive play areas for the development of the children of the district. Physical activity and exercise are vitally important for a healthy lifestyle for them, and I hope that this play area will be well used with local youngsters having fun outdoors. I am particularly pleased to see the inclusion of the wheelchair-accessible roundabout so that less able children can have fun also”.
