European Union Funded Programmes – European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)
Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is offering free support to hundreds of businesses throughout the Council area over the next four years. The projects are part funded by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund under the Investment for Growth and Jobs Northern Ireland (2014-2020) Programme.

The Kick Start and Advancing Business Growth Programmes are now open for businesses to apply and will run until the end of July 2021. The Kick Start Programme has been awarded to Enterprise Northern Ireland and will be delivered in partnership with Omagh Enterprise Company Ltd and Fermanagh Enterprise Ltd and Advancing Business Growth is being delivered by Global Education Ltd (GEL) NI.

Kick Start Programme

  • The Kick Start Programme will have a two tier approach of support to businesses as follows:
    Tier 1 – a series of workshops covering key business topics such as accessing finance; recruitment of staff; financial management/bookkeeping and marketing to businesses within the first 12 months of completing RSI/NIBSP or setting up business through other means.
  • Tier 2 – up to a maximum of four days one-to-one mentor support to businesses still in operation 12 months and up to a maximum of 36 months after completing RSI/NIBSP or setting up by other means and who can demonstrate the potential to create jobs.

  • The Advancing Business Growth Programme is for businesses in operation for three years or over with turnover of a minimum of £50,000. The programme will be delivered through a combination of workshops relevant to the needs of local businesses and up to a maximum of three days one-to-one mentoring in areas including sales and marketing, research and development, exporting and growing the digital economy.

The 11-Council Northern Ireland Business Start Up Programme, “Go For It” which offers free advice to people wishing to set up their own business is just one avenue of support for those wishing to take the first step on the ladder to self employment.

The programme is part funded by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund under the Investment for Growth & Jobs Northern Ireland (2014-2020) Programme and is delivered by Enterprise Northern Ireland and the network of Enterprise Agencies throughout Northern Ireland.

The programme will run for the next three-and-a-half years and will be delivered through the network of Local Enterprise Agencies.
