‘Within’, an exhibition by Rostrevor based painter, Frances O’Reilly, will open at 7 pm on Friday 28 June 2019 in the Strule Arts Centre, Omagh.

Frances’ work is predominantly about place and is triggered by the area around her. At times her work has been informed by an industrial and city landscape, such as the ‘Urban Fabric Series’, based in Glasgow, however Frances’ current works are linked to the rural landscape in which she lives, coupled with imagined landscapes of sometimes far off places.

Her works are predominantly small in scale and abstract in approach. They are almost invariably from an aerial viewpoint which tends to be her automatic response to beginning a piece.

Frances O’Reilly’s background is in photography and media studies resulting in a BA Honours in Film and Media Studies from the University of Ulster, however in more recent years Frances has moved to the medium of painting, largely in acrylics.

‘Within’ opens at the Strule Arts Centre on Friday 28 June 2019, 7pm and runs until 20 July 2019. The exhibition is open from 9.30am – 5pm, Monday – Saturday. Admission is free.
