The flood lit all weather tennis courts at the Bawnacre Centre, Irvinestown, have reopened for bookings.

The reopening of the four tennis courts follows the easing of some Covid-19 restrictions from 1 April 2021 as part of the NI Executive’s ‘Pathway out of Restrictions’ and guidance received from Tennis Ireland, the governing body for the sport.

Speaking about the reopening of the tennis courts, the Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Diana Armstrong said:

“Sport is good for both mental and physical wellbeing and the reopening of the tennis courts will allow people to get outdoors and get active in a safe environment. While the Council welcomes the easing of some restrictions, people’s safety remains priority. Progress is being made in the fight against Covid however it is still within our communities and we must not become complacent.  I urge people to keep going; always think hands, face and space and adhere to the advice in place with regard to current restrictions.”

Tennis courts may be booked by anyone wishing to play. To book a court please contact the Bawnacre Centre directly by telephone on 028 6862 1777. Payment will be taken via credit or debit card at time of booking.

Tennis courts will be open for play, Monday to Friday, 11am to 9.30pm and Saturday 11am to 5.30pm with people required to bring their own equipment.
