Strule Arts Centre’s virtual programme continues apace over the next two weeks with yet more high quality entertainment brought to the public live and virtual via the venue’s Facebook page.

Thursday 20th May will see the wonderfully talented tutors and students from Hazel Wand Theatre School perform “Songs from the Shows”.  A few senior students, recent graduates and some staff members will perform a wide selection of musical theatre showstoppers!  This is a must for all lovers of the musical theatre genre as the West End comes to the Strule.  With an eclectic programme of songs from the classics such as Calamity Jane, Guys and Dolls and the Sound of Music to blockbuster musical productions such as Les Misérables and Miss Saigon, not to mention more modern musicals such as Wicked and Beauty and the Beast, there will be something to suit everyone.  Make sure you have your interval ice-cream pre ordered and your seat on the sofa booked and enjoy a truly magical theatre experience from the comfort of your own home.

Bantam and Fowl will be performing live on Saturday 22 May at 8.00pm.  Cara McCarthy and Niall Moore have been performing with various groups for many years

throughout the Omagh area and beyond.  After a series of events which was not foretold in any of the annals of history, and a rather amusing conversation about possibly raising chickens, Bantam and Fowl was born!  Playing songs from a wide range of artists and genres, Bantam and Fowl have spent the past year entertaining the masses on social media from their living room (under the close watchful eye of a certain Mr Cohen).  From Country to Western, via Folk, Rock and Pop, this is a show not to be missed.

Taking us up until the end of May, episode 3 of The Culture Show hosted by Gerarda McCann, will be streamed live and virtual from the Strule Café on Thursday 27 May at 8.00pm. The incredibly talented and versatile Cool Hand String Band will bring Strule Arts Centre’s May virtual programme to a rousing conclusion on Saturday 29 May.  There is something for everyone in May.

All performances will be live on Strule Arts Centre’s Facebook page and will start each night at 8.00 pm.

Strule Arts Centre continues to work with local primary schools through their virtual programme.  More than 400 children from over 20 primary schools across the district are currently taking part in the ‘Chain of Love’ wellbeing project.  The project moto ‘Together we can do great things’ was developed by local primary school teacher Catherine Gormley and creatives through Strule Arts Centre.

With children’s wellbeing at the core of the project, it includes play therapy, arts and crafts, creative writing, reading, song and dance.  If you would like to find out more log on to www.struleartscentre.co.uk
