Fermanagh and Omagh District Council’s 11th annual 1 FT SQ exhibition will open at the Gallery, Strule Arts Centre, Omagh on Friday 14 December 2018 at 7 pm.

The exhibition, which will be officially opened by the Chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Howard Thornton, will showcase a diverse collection of artworks, all measuring one foot square in size. Speaking about the exhibition, Councillor Thornton said;

“In times when opportunities for artists to showcase and sell their work are limited, exhibitions such as 1 FT SQ are of great importance not only as a vehicle through which work can be sold but also to create a platform through which the arts community can participate and show together in a high profile purpose-built venue.”

In October 2018, Fermanagh and Omagh District Council issued an open call to the arts community to exhibit in this year’s 1FT SQ exhibition and once again the response was excellent.  This year’s exhibition features in excess of 100 works for exhibition and sale from more than 40 new, emerging, established and professional artists from across the island of Ireland.

The exhibition will continue at the Strule Arts Centre until Saturday 12 January 2018. The Gallery is open from Monday to Saturday, from 10 am to 5 pm excluding Christmas and New Year closures and admission is free.

This year’s exhibition is a travelling exhibition and will also be displayed in Fermanagh at the Blaney Yoga Centre, Loughshore Road, Enniskillen, from 8 February 2019 as part of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council’s visual arts pop-up programme.
